Be careful of hypothermia when traveling to China's Taibai Mountain

When I was in college in Xi'an, I also climbed Taibai Mountain. That was to do social practice and conduct research in the village. It was probably in May or June. There were a group of us, and if the teacher led the team, there were about 20 people. We had to climb very high. It was neither cold nor hot, and it was quite comfortable at that time.

Bringing a lighter in this month will not have any effect. Maybe the only effect is psychological comfort.

Let's look at the physical explanation first:

The top of the ice crystal is 3015 meters above sea level.

For every 1000 meters increase in altitude, the temperature drops by about 6℃.

On October 20, the temperature range at the foot of Taibai Mountain was between 5-14℃, and the altitude at the foot of Taibai Mountain was about 740 meters.

‌Taibai Mountain is the main peak of the Qinling Mountains. It is located at the intersection of Meixian, Taibai and Zhouzhi counties in Baoji City, Shaanxi Province. The main peak, Baxiantai, has an altitude of 3771.2 meters.

Let's do a simple calculation, based on 14°C. When it reaches an altitude of 3015 meters, it will also drop by 13.65℃. This is based on the highest temperature at the foot of the mountain, which is basically close to 0℃.

What about Bingjingding?

It is the highest peak east of Taibai Mountain. The average temperature is much lower than that of the city. From mid-to-late November to early April of the following year, the snow on the top of the mountain does not melt, and the snow on the shady slope can be preserved until mid-to-late April.

Because according to reports, we cannot know whether there is snow on the top of the mountain, or whether there is snow that has not melted, but the temperature in these two days is likely to be below 0.

Not to mention the Qinling Mountains. What is the concept of the Qinling Mountains? Many people may not think that the Qinling Mountains are so magical.

To put it simply, the south of the Qinling Mountains and the north of the Qinling Mountains are two different worlds.

South of the Qinling Mountains, we can basically call it the south, most of which grow rice and eat rice, with distinct four seasons, while north of the Qinling Mountains, it is basically the Northwest, eating pasta and growing wheat.

The Qinling Mountains can divide Shaanxi into southern Shaanxi and northern Shaanxi. You can imagine how high and long the Qinling Mountains are.

The best time to climb the mountains in Shaanxi is basically from May to June. During this period, it is neither too hot nor too cold. From June to September, it is very cold.

There is also Huashan. Some people say that if you don't climb Huashan, you will regret it for a lifetime, and if you climb Huashan, you will regret it for two weeks. It is really high. If you climb it in June and July and reach the top of the mountain at five or six in the morning, you have to wear a military coat.

To truly experience it and watch the sunrise, you must ask the locals or people who have climbed it, especially some places we have not been to.

In many cases, science cannot explain some places such as mountains, forests, and the sea.

Cherish life.
